goaltending, that's the bottom line. It'll only get tighter for the leafs from here on out, maybe they trade for Luongo at the deadline, they would guaranteed make the playofs if they did, but Reimer and Scrivens re questions marks

Yeah, Scrivens got pulled to send a message to the rest of the team and give the guy some mercy after most of that 2nd period was total domination by the Jets. Leafs were lucky and showed some bounce back to pull out a point. Reimer obviously did as much as you could ask in the shootout stopping 8 of 10. Take the point and move on, Lupul being the best player on the ice was the best news in this game for the Buds.

Hope to see the standings hold up in some fashion so we get all of Mtl, Wpg, Ott and Tor into the playoffs, only chance for that to ever happen in the east before realignment, would be really fun to see some Canadian teams meet in the playoffs. Good game Jets.

Toronto are better than last year, but they won't make the playoffs. The offense is good but not good enough to erase atrocious defense and average goaltending.

Next year, with Gardiner and Reilly, and a move to get Bernier or Luongo, you will make it.

Meh, the d has had a rough time just recently, but overall the D and goaltending have been far from atrocious this season. PK has been top ten in the league, goaltending has been solid. They are in a rough patch righ now it's a far different team than under Ron Wilson, they are in good shape to make it.

Okay, the Leafs goaltending is definitely playoff caliber, they prove it every year.

Ok your clearly a troll with no balls to post your team on your profile

Now lets talk about the Goalies we have and how good they looked when we had a decent D setup in front of them..Everyone knows we arent cup contenderss this year and next, those 2 years will give our young goalies good exp and they will grow and learn like every other goalie does when they break into the nhl..Price,Lou,Schineder,etc all went threw it in their first years..Taking on a bad contract like Lou's and giving up one of our tenders in the process isint a good thing to do right now to fill a gap in net and still wont be a quarntee'ed playoff spot when we clearly have issues with our D's that will continue to drag us down..

So as you said lets go get Lou because he will get us in the playoffs wont he?Oh wait Van is tied with us point wise eh,their also sitting lower in the top 8 then us.arent they?So if Lou is as good as you say and he will get us a playoff spot then why is Van sitting 7th in their conf while playing in the easiest division in the nhl?Oh ya your a smart guy LMAO

What better way for a nobody to feel like somebody than to use the Leafs as his crutch. He'll go back to being ignored and irrelevant when the Jets play other teams.

I find it interesting that you think talking about the team Winnipeg played is odd or wrong. More importantly I think I took some fair shots at the problems both teams faced on the ice too.

Tess not that my opinion matters but you have never been labeled a Troll before. You always take a good look at the situation and evaluate it honestly. Esplen can be labeled a troll but IMO you are not even close .

Man you sound dumb... mtl has been ann average team for years. Fans of the team like the leafs tend to be pretty knowlageble. That being said soad made an observation. Like when the leafs beat us 6-0 people had things to say. For the most part the crtisms were spot on. Grow up, leanr to be objective. Its not a personal attack when someone points out your team played like poop.

Yeah not a troll blog at all. Toronto got totally dominated for first fifteen minutes of the 2nd, Jets let them off the hook, Buff had some sketchy moments, and Pav outduelled Reimer in a shootout. Just a fair description of a wacky game to me.

Both your GM's said the Leafs need an upgrade in goal and Nonnis basically admitted he tried to acquire Luongo for Kadri but no takers.

I'm just dealing with reality here, the teams with the best goaltending down the stretch make the playoffs and the teams who don't don't make it, I'm just offering my 2 cents on what the biggest Leafs need is to get them into the playoffs - if you are happy with the status quo for the next few years then good for you.

And to comapre Reimer to Price or Luongo is a bit of a joke, both goalies accomplished more by the age of 21 then Reimer has in his career - there is a difference between a future star growing into his role and a journeyman player being given the keys to the franchises playoffs hopes.

But good luck to your Leafs, they should make it, they would if they had better goaltending but we'll see how this plays out.

I doubt very much Nonis would give up Kadri for a ageing tender with such a long aweful contract..Maybe you provide me with a link to a story or a press conf with him saying this..Considering i watch all their games and press, conf releases i dont ever recall him saying any such thing..I know Kadri was a player Van wanted in the deal but clearly they never got him..Like Gardiner,Rielly, our 1st,etc..If i were you i wouldnt listen to everything the so callled rumor breakers like Ek have to say,95% is bullpoop and made up..WHat i do remember is Nonis saying he broke off talks with Van over Lou because of what they were asking for..

Lets see Lous first years in the NHL Islanders 24 played 7 14 1
Florida 47 played 12 24 7
Florida 58 Played 16 33 4
Florida 65 played 20 34 7

Ya Lou def accomplised more then riemer by the time he was 21

I like to look at the big picture and not one to have blinders on..Like i said before if were arent a team that will make a serious cup run then its useless to throw our tenders under the bus..The prob runs deeper then the net..Our def is playing just horrible atm and if you look from the start of the season to now you can clearly see it..When our Def plays good our goalie play good and usually give them a chance to win but when our Def plays games like they have for the 6 games or so its completely unfair to the tenders to be expected to make the big game winning saves for 60 mins..Its a team game not a goalies game..

Funny i see you still have no balls to say who you support..
